The NLC Chess Circle is pleased to invite all NLC members to the second NLC Chess Circle Summer Blitz Competition, to be held on the evening of Tuesday 20 June, from 6.30pm.
.
For those not familiar with blitz chess, it’s very straightforward. Each player will have 5 minutes on the clock, and if you run out of time you lose the game.
.
This will be a fun and lighthearted evening offering a series of 5-minute-per-player games of chess, with the proud winner’s name being etched on the highly sought after ‘Kennedy Cup’ trophy.
.
The players should gather around 6pm on the terrace for drinks, with play to begin at 6.30pm sharp. We will have multiple games over a two hour period, with the magnificent trophy being awarded just before 8.30pm, whereupon we’ll head through for dinner.
.
Entry is accepted right up to the start of the competition, but if you could indicate your attendance in advance to Ben Widdicombe (bjwidds@googlemail.co.uk) that would be helpful in organising the evening format.
.
Here’s the magnificent Kennedy Cup:
The NLC Chess Circle looks forward to seeing you there!
